Jason Freier is the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Hardball Capital. Hardball’s core business is the operation of affiliated Minor League Baseball teams: Chattanooga Lookouts; Ft. Wayne Tincaps and the Columbia Fireflys. Hardball’s teams provide fun, affordable family entertainment in an environment which is enjoyable for our fans and our personnel. Hardball Capital aims to provide a superior entertainment product by maintaining and upgrading state-of-the-art facilities with modern amenities, offering high-quality concessions at reasonable prices and bringing to its markets innovative and interesting promotions, events and activities. Hardball’s venues are 365 day-a-year entertainment centers, hosting much more than just baseball games. Hardball’s ballpark in Fort Wayne, Parkview Field, has twice been named the top minor league ballpark in America and has spurred over $100 million in private investment and development in the City’s downtown. Hardball Capital's teams have also won multiple awards for promotional efforts and operational proficiency.

Under Mr. Freier's leadership Hardball has built the Fort Wayne TinCaps into one of the premiere teams in Minor League Baseball and drastically improved the operations and fan experience with both the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Salem Avalanche. Hardball has set all-time attendance records with every team it has owned and operated.

Mr. Freier is an attorney by training. Prior to founding Hardball, he specialized in complex business matters and sports law (representing owners and potential owners of MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL teams). He appeared in courts at all levels, including the United States Supreme Court. Following law school, Mr. Freier worked with former United States Solicitor General and Harvard Law Professor Charles Fried and practiced with Williams & Connolly in Washington D.C. and Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore in Atlanta. Mr. Freier's work has been the subject of articles in national publications and has been quoted in legislation before the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

Mr. Freier is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and Leadership Atlanta (class of 2007). He also serves as a council member for the Gerson Lehrman Group, where he advises leading hedge funds, financial services firms, consultancies and corporations. Mr. Freier is also a Managing Director of BlueArc Capital Management, an investment firm focusing on private equity and hedge fund strategies.

Mr. Freier serves on the Board of Directors of the South Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, where he is a member of the League's Executive Committee, and the Midwest League of Professional Baseball. He serves on the Advisory Boards of Thuzio, Multiply Live and Palmer & Cay. Mr. Freier has also served on the Board of Directors of the Carolina League of Professional Baseball. Mr. Freier is an appointed member of the Stadium Advisory Board of the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission. He is also an officer of the Harvard Club of Georgia.

Jason is a graduate of Harvard College and the Yale Law School, where he was elected to the Yale Law Journal.

He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
