Being that the Wharton School wants to do all it can to assist alumni during
these uncertain economic times, the School is proud to offer two sessions of
this webinar.
The November 17 webinar, presented by Penn Career Services’ Wharton
undergraduate advisors Barbara Hewitt and David Ross will provide an overview of
the ways in which the Career Services Office at Penn can assist undergraduate
alumni in achieving their career goals. The presenters will also give an update
on what they are currently seeing in the job market as well as provide specific
tips on job hunting in a difficult economy. In addition, Ms. Hewitt and Mr.
Ross will provide information on how Wharton undergraduate alumni can stay
connected with Penn through posting jobs and internships, participating in
PACNet (our alumni mentoring program), or serving as an Externship host. There
will also be time at the end of the webinar for questions from the audience.
November 19 webinar, presented by MBA Career Management, Senior Associate
Director of Alumni Services Cara Costello will provide an overview of the ways
in which MBA Career Management can assist MBA alumni in achieving their short-
and long-term career goals. Topics of discussion include a job market update,
and specific tips on an effective job search in today's economy. In addition,
Ms. Costello will provide information on how Wharton MBA alumni can stay
connected with Wharton though regional club events, hiring needs, and volunteer
opportunities. There will also be time at the end of the webinar for questions
from the audience.
BARBARA HEWITT, Senior Associate Director, Wharton Alumni Career
Services, first joined the Career Services office at Penn in 1998 as a career
counselor working with students in the College of Arts and Sciences and in 2000
became Senior Associate Director working with Wharton undergraduate students and
alumni. In addition to working with students, she also supervises the on-campus
recruiting program at Penn. Prior to joining the Penn Career Services team she
worked for two years in career services at the College of Wooster and for five
years in career services at Dickinson College. Ms. Hewitt holds a Bachelor of
Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Dickinson College, an MS in Counseling from
Shippensburg University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Management from the
University of Pennsylvania.
DAVID ROSS, Associate Director, Wharton Alumni Career Services, has
devoted the majority of his professional career to career services, including
serving as a member of the employer relations team at the MBA Career Management
office at Georgetown University and work in employer relations at the Toppel
Career Center at the University of Miami. Mr. Ross holds a Bachelor of Science
in Business Administration from Olin Business School at Washington University in
St. Louis, a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Higher Education
Management from Penn, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from The
Wharton School at Penn.
CARA COSTELLO, Senior Associate Director, Wharton Alumni Services, MBA
Career Management, supports the office's mission to empower alumni to achieve
their short- and long-term career goals. She works closely with Wharton staff
and the alumni club leaders to provide career programming, enhanced online
resources, and lifelong job search assistance for Wharton MBA alumni. Ms.
Costello brings twelve years of experience in career advising and company
outreach, including nine years as the Wharton MBA Career Management Team’s
Career Advisor for media and entertainment, real estate and travel and
hospitality. She holds a master's degree in Higher Education from Syracuse
University.

services to all undergraduate students and alumni at the University, as well as
graduate students from 9 schools at Penn. We help students and alumni define

You must register by Sunday, November 15 to receive the web address and your
password for the webinar and for subsequent access to the recording.
Location & Logistics: Join this online seminar through your PC from the
convenience of your office or home! (No phones involved.)
- Before the webinar date, registrants will
be emailed the webinar sign-in URL along with your ID and password, plus
additional technical details. That email will also include a link to the
recorded version for later playback using the same ID and password. (Some
Wharton Clubs have that automatically sent out immediately when you
register, making last-minute registrations possible.)
- A MS Windows PC and a headset or speakers
are required for full audio and webcam functionality. You will be able to
type questions during the Q&A portion of the webinar or may ask them orally
if your PC is set up with a microphone.
- Live participation is limited to Windows
users, but Mac and Linux users who specify their platform during
registration can be notified when a Mac/Linux-compatible video recording of
the webinar becomes available at a later date. A Windows-compatible
recording will be accessible soon after the webinar ends.
